The people with shotguns… that think they’re going to overthrow that, they’re living in a dream world. They’re living in the nineteenth century. But they can be overthrown. They can be overthrown by information. 1s and 0s. Computer data. The Gulf War was postponed for five days. Bush came on television - the first Bush, George the First - came on television and said he was giving Saddam Hussein five days to think it over. And that was really because all the computers in the Pentagon were down and they didn’t know. They thought Saddam Hussein had these evil scientists working in Iraq and putting down American computers… It turned out to be a fifteen year old in, I think, Iowa or one of those places that nobody ever goes. A fifteen year old and his computer delayed the war for five days. That just goes to show what can be done with computers non-violently. This to me is much more powerful than Ghandi’s passive resistance.
